Garage of Culture
The reconstruction of the garage for special equipment aims to preserve and further develop the building’s simple structure in accordance with the requirements of the site. The old structure within the block has been given new life: former storage spaces have been transformed into flexible areas for work and leisure. On the first level, separate sections are combined into an enfilade of rooms equipped with modular frame furniture. The building’s structural framework has been preserved and reinforced, while the previously usable flat roof has been replaced with a pitched construction that gives the building a new architectural meaning in the context of its surroundings. The second level functions as a venue for public events, and in the warmer months the interiors can fully open onto the courtyard through large folding glass facades, allowing visitors to become completely immersed in the life of the building both inside and out.
